Friday’s concert marked the culmination of this year’s Guildhall Jazz Festival, and was a remarkable performance by the wonderful Mark Lockheart. The students played exceptionally well in what Head of Jazz Martin Hathaway describes as “one of the very best GJB concerts” in his 23 tenure at the school. Mark’s music had a major impact on both the audience and performers, with his beautiful ballad, Way of the Road a particular highlight.
